Professional Background

Chris Liverett is the Founder and Employing Broker of Sherpa Real Estate, established in 2016. Since entering the Pagosa Springs real estate market as a licensed agent in 2006, Chris has built both his reputation and his company on being trusted guides in the industry. Known for his analytical expertise, deep local knowledge, and relational approach to helping clients achieve their real estate goals, Sherpa Real Estate has grown into the largest and most productive brokerage in Archuleta County.

Throughout his 20-year career, Chris has earned numerous accolades and milestones. He became a licensed associate broker in 2006 and obtained his managing broker license in 2008. His professional achievements include being named Rookie of the Year (2006), Realtor of the Year (2017 & 2018), and receiving the Realtor Spirit Award (2019).

Chris has also served two terms on the board of the Pagosa Springs Area Association of Realtors and continues to be recognized as a respected leader in the region’s real estate community.
In addition to overseeing commercial, residential, and ranch brokerage services, Chris developed and scaled Sherpa Systems, an agent training platform he actively implements to help real estate professionals accelerate their success.

Personal

Chris lives in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, with his wife and 3 children, where he embraces the mountain lifestyle he loves. His passion for the outdoors, leadership, and community drives both his professional work and personal life.

Raised in Alabama, Chris developed a love for the mountains early on during time spent in Tennessee and North Carolina — a passion that eventually drew him west to Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. Before entering real estate, Chris built a diverse professional background spanning drafting, aviation, and outdoor guiding (rafting, rock climbing, and big game hunting). He spent several years in Denver working for Jeppesen Aviation, contributing to their flight safety analysis and data extraction departments. These experiences — combining data-driven decision-making with people-focused service — uniquely equipped him to become a trusted advisor in real estate.

Community Involvement

His community involvement includes serving as an elder at Grace of Pagosa Church, where he enjoys leadership, small group facilitation, and teaching faith-based business classes on a regular basis. His passion is to help people in the community find their ultimate purpose and meaning in their work.

Chris enjoys working with nonprofits in the area and carves out a percentage of net profits from Sherpa Real Estate to support local and global initiatives. Including the Cornerstone Project, Rise Above Violence, Edify.org, and many other initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty, domestic violence, and human trafficking. He has served as an unofficial advisor to Rise Above Violence, helping them expand their Safe Housing Partnership program.
