John Renfrow

Responsibilities

At Renfrow Realty, John uses his background in engineering design, banking, finance, investment and business management to explain and navigate the complexities of mortgages, surveying, environmental matters, water rights, development and municipal processes. As a fourth-generation resident in the area, John is highly knowledgeable about commercial, farm and ranch, and residential real estate. He expanded the business in 2010 to include commercial property management, receivership and tax protesting.

Since 2009, Renfrow Realty has been the leading commercial broker in sales volume and commercial leasing in the Montrose area.

Professional Background

John Renfrow began his career in mechanical engineering in 1994 at Harris Corporation in Melbourne, Florida, designing custom electronic packages across more than 17 projects.

In 2000 he joined JDSU as Development Leader and Project Engineer, leading project engineering and manufacturing for all products and configurations. In 2002 he joined Dialight in New Jersey as an Engineering Manager, leading a multi-discipline team for a $40 million LED products business.

In 2003 John became a Broker’s Associate at Bray & Company in Montrose, where he closed over $40 million in real estate and commercial leasing and was the number one salesperson in the Montrose office for five years running.

Memberships & Affiliations

John Renfrow is a member of the Montrose Association of Realtors in addition to Rocky Mountain Commercial Real Estate, and is affiliated with Shepard’s Hand food bank and soup kitchen.

Community Service & Involvement

John volunteers with the Montrose Jail and Prison Ministries and Shepard’s Hand.

Education

In 2004 John obtained his broker license in the State of Colorado, and a managing broker license in 2009. In 1994 he received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Personal

John Renfrow and his wife Sarah have four children. His brother Adam also works at Renfrow Realty, and his father Jim Renfrow has over 40 years of real estate experience. John enjoys hiking, fly-fishing and hunting.
