A real estate professional since 2004, John Renfrow is owner of Renfrow Realty in the Montrose-Delta area. Now in its third generation, Renfrow Realty has been a trusted real estate source since 1986. John and his seasoned team bring a lengthy track record of combined industry expertise that spans nearly 100 years across nearly every market disciple. John’s background as an engineer at high-tech companies gives his clients a significant advantage in completing complicated real estate transactions.

Responsibilities

At Renfrow Realty, John uses his background in engineering design, banking, finance, investment, and business management to explain and navigate the complexities of mortgages, surveying, environmental, water rights, development, municipal processes, and more to clients. Renfrow Realty serves both buyers and sellers in Montrose and surrounding areas. As a fourth-generation resident in the area, John Renfrow is highly knowledgeable about commercial, farm and ranch, and residential real estate.  John expanded the business in 2010 to include commercial property management, receivership, and tax protesting.  John’s board team of highly experienced individuals includes three generations of Renfrows in the office.

Since 2009, Renfrow Realty has been the leading commercial broker in sales volume and commercial leasing in the Montrose area.

Professional Background

John Renfrow began his career in mechanical engineering in 1994 at Harris Corporation in Melbourne, Florida. John was responsible for designing custom electronic packages and worked on over 17 different projects. He also performed analysis on electronic enclosures for harsh environments (airborne and ground systems) and led mechanical system efforts (complete systems from enclosures to antennas).

In 2000, John Renfrow joined JDSU as Development Leader/Project Engineer. He led project engineering and manufacturing for all products and configurations and handled customer interfaces, actions and risks and facility site selection. John Renfrow was also responsible for national and international product site and product integration.

John Renfrow then joined Dialight in New Jersey in 2002 as an Engineering Manager. As leader of a multi-discipline team for $40 million business in a wide range of Light Emitting Diodes (LED) products, John was responsible for success of four different product lines.

In 2003, John Renfrow became a Broker’s Associate at Bray & Company in Montrose, Colorado. In this role, John closed over $40 million in real estate and commercial leasing. He was number one real estate salesperson in the Bray & Company’s Montrose office in sales volume for five years in a row.

John Renfrow brings an engineering mindset to real estate, developing data mining and internet information exchange to out-of-area buyers and developers.

Education

In 2004, John obtained his licensed broker license in the State of Colorado;  Additional, he obtained a managing broker license in 2009.

In 1994, John Renfrow received his BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

In 1994, John Renfrow received his certification in machining from Boulder Technical Education Center (Boulder TEC.)

Personal

John Renfrow and his wife Sarah have four children – Ellie, Abigail, Isaac and Olivia. John’s brother, Adam, also work at Renfrow Realty.  John’s father, Jim Renfrow has over 40 years of real estate experience. John enjoys hiking, fly-fishing, and hunting.
