PUBLIC POLICY CHANGES
In 2026, Grand Junction delayed enforcement of a new irrigation design certification requirement until January 1, 2029, giving development professionals more time to obtain the required certification and preventing potential project approval delays. In 2026, Grand Junction secured $27.2 million through Proposition 123 affordable-housing financing, supporting five housing projects and additional affordable-housing planning and homeownership efforts.DEVELOPMENTS
Maverick Champion Football Project: Construction is underway on CMU’s 25,000-square-foot, two-story facility at 910 N 12th St, next to Suplizio Field, as part of the university’s partnership with the City of Grand Junction. Bringing new athletic facilities, fan amenities, and stadium upgrades. Four Canyons Parkway Expansion: Construction continues on the $12 million-dollar Four Canyons Parkway project, adding new roadway connections and improving traffic capacity between 24 1/2 Road and 25 Road all the way to Patterson, with Phase 2 completion expected in late 2026. The Terminal Project: The Terminal Project: Site preparation is underway for The Terminal, a 100,000-square- foot, 72-unit mixed-income and mixed-use complex at 230 S.
